Real Wedding Style Sheet

Matt_costa_style_sheet

We are so excited to post our first (of many) Style Sheets to inspire all of the fresh details of a modern wedding event from favor ideas to color palettes, fashion and cuisine. Michael and Anna Costa sent us these beautiful images from Amy + Mike's wedding at El Careyes Beach Resort, a hidden gem on Mexico's gold coast. The Santa Barbara photographers perfectly captured the island casual setting and thoughtful details of the destination wedding.

Still Time to Enter the Photo Contest!

Thank you to all the brides and photographers that have taken the time to send in photos for our first contest here at Love Notes! We have received many, many pictures, and there is still time to enter The Last Word Photo Contest—deadline is Thursday, April 10, 2008.

Here is how it works:

Submit a photograph for a chance to have your image appear FULL PAGE in the upcoming Summer/Fall 2008 issue of Pacific WEDDINGS! The winning photo will appear on The Last Word page facing the inside back cover of Pacific WEDDINGS magazine. It is a truly special page, carefully selected by the editor and dedicated with an inspirational scripture to our readers. The page symbolizes that gratifying feeling of completion—a reader having finished the magazine and those of us behind the scenes having finished the incredible journey of creating another issue. Click here for a digital sample of a back issue.

The Last Word is often the final image that our readers see before closing the book. And depending on how you generally peruse a magazine, it is also one of the first pages seen (for those of you who flip from back to front). If you have noticed The Last Word in a back issue, this single image captures a magical, emotional moment in a wedding celebration— a single captivating image that conveys love, friendship, heartfelt gratitude and spontaneity. It isn't necessarily devoted to the bride and groom—it can be any extraordinary shot that instantly conveys emotion. Email us your strongest image today and you could be chosen for publication in the upcoming issue!

Email your photo(s) to contest@pacificweddings.com. Tell us why the image(s) stands out to you, then we will post our top five selections and let our readers vote! PLEASE DO NOT SEND HIGH RESOLUTION IMAGES AT THIS TIME, and send no more than 5 images per photographer or event. Photos should be 72 dpi and no larger than 8x10".  High resolution images will be requested if your image is among the finalists. A photo release will also be required if your image is one of the five posted for voting.

The Real Thing

The Pacific WEDDINGS bride wants her wedding to embody the same timeless elegance and modern sense of style found in the pages of Pacific WEDDINGS. When the planning is all said and done, we are thrilled to share the final outcome in our real wedding features. Has Pacific WEDDINGS played an important part in your wedding plans or those of your clients? Share your story with our editors and you may be featured in the next edition. Shown above is one of our favorite weddings, photographed by Stefanie Riedel.

Film director Jordan Alan's marriage to actress Amanda Righetti played out with the finesse of a Hollywood movie. The handsome couple exchanged vows on the North Shore of Hawaii overlooking a brilliant expanse of ocean, the tumbling waves faintly audible from beyond the estate grounds. The sparkling blue Pacific influenced nearly every element of the event. Amanda designed bouquets of white calla lilies dotted with blue iris, contemporary square vases filled with sand held candles to light each table. The reception area was brimming in candlelight, with tiki torches glowing around the grounds and glimmering candles floating amid white rose petals in the pool. Bouquets of deep blue irises hung above the pool, casting reflections in the aqua-colored water. The dance floor was awash in the soft romantic light of over-sized paper lanterns in shades of blue, white, and sandy yellow. Read on...

Love Notes: The Magic of Maui

moments.jpgOnce a couple catches a vicarious glimpse of a real wedding, they're convinced that there is no place quite like Maui to say "I do". Bride Sandra Birnie is a perfect case in point: "While I was looking through Pacific Rim Weddings magazine I saw a wedding that had taken place on Maui at a private waterfront estate, and I knew it was exactly what I wanted." Still not convinced? Read on...
