I couldn't help but notice a flurry ;) of butterflies in the design world lately. This winter, the Dior Homme store in Paris features a striking butterfly installation by Italian artist Andrea Mastrovito. Inspired by the whimsical fall/winter 2008 collection, Dior Homme's artistic director Kris Van Assche commisioned the artwork featuring 9,000 butterfly silhouettes meticulously arranged throughout the all-white boutique. Even the most recent issue of Martha Stewart Weddings features a simple white cake on the cover adorned in brighter than bright fabric butterflies— a celebration of color during this pale winter season.
