Real Wedding Style: Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens

JANE

This week's real wedding style inspiration comes from one of Hawaii's top wedding coordinators, Jane Lopez of Beth Helmstetter Events. The Maui girl and her sweetheart, Shaun, opted to wed on the Garden Isle of Kauai at Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens, a gorgeous 240-acre property in Kilauea on the North Shore. Jane says, "I have always found that destination weddings have such a different feel to them than a large hometown celebration-- it brings an element of relaxation and adventure to the event." Since Kauai is only a thirty minute plane ride from the couple's home on Maui, it didn't hinder friends and family from travelling. "We were really striving to keep our wedding as green as possible and this location exemplifies all of the honorable qualities that benefit the community and the environment," Jane says. The couple chose an unexpected setting for their ceremony. "Since our vision for the day was down-to-earth and simple with a modern touch, the Teak Plantations on the property were perfect," the bride says. Marked by rows of tall bark Fiddlewood trees that formed a natural aisle, the brown, gold and green hues of the forest setting served as the color palette of the day. Maui wedding and lifestyle photographer Scott Drexler captured this fun-loving pair beautifully! View more of Scott's work here.
